This video presents the solution to the problem where the equation of a line l2 through a point (-2,4) and perpendicular to another line l1 given by its equation -2y + 4x = - 2 is found.
First, the slope m1 of line l1 is found from its equation.
Then the relationship between the slopes m1 (of l1) and m2 (of l2) of two perpendicular lines given by m1 * m2 = - 1 is used to find the slope m2 of l2. Then the point-slope form of the line l2 is written and simplified.
