Regain control of your TV audio with this device
0:03
Let's have a look. Dave Taylor here, and I've looked at this product before
0:15
This is the really amazing new Hira IQBuds Boost. So they are basically true wireless stereo-blutooth earbuds, but they also double as a hearing aid
0:28
Very cool. You can check up my review here, but what I want to talk about today is I want to talk about this device
0:35
This pairs with the earbuds, and this is the new Hira IQ Stream TV, and it's really cool
0:44
This little box you basically put in line with the audio from your television, and it comes with a lot of different wires, so you should be able to accomplish that
0:52
And then it talks to these earbuds through your app on your smartphone
0:58
and you then have a completely independent volume control from the rest of the TV
1:04
and from everyone else watching TV. So, if everyone's watching a football game and you just need it to be a little louder
1:11
they got you covered. If it's late at night and you want to be able to watch a show without bothering anyone
1:17
turn the volume off on the TV and use this to get your volume to work
1:22
Now, it basically has, as you can see in the close-up, it has a micro-usb for power
1:28
and that generally should plug into a USB port on a modern television, so that's easy
1:33
and then it has audio in and audio out. So you just put this in line with whatever system you have
1:39
If you have a sound bar, for example, you can put this between the TV and the soundbar
1:45
Now, I'm using this little tiny monitor just for a demonstration, and in this case, it doesn't actually have much in the way of audio capabilities
1:53
so I'm plugging this into the headphone jack, and you know what? It works great
1:56
So, let me plug it in. So this wire, which was included with the IQ stream, I'm going to put into input
2:05
And then I have my micro USB power, and we'll plug it in and power it up
2:11
And one of the things I really like about it is that it's ridiculously easy to pair
2:16
In fact when I did this and I got my earbuds going then all I had to do was the phone immediately saw the device as you can see and one tap and it paired and ready to go And now when I ready to use these I put the earbuds in and they automatically pair
2:35
You adjust them a bit to get them to fit the way you like
2:39
Let's see. I think we're good to go. It's already paired. And then in the app, I simply choose my stream source to be my television
2:49
and good to go. That's all I have to do. Now, I have Netflix, so if I move here
2:58
I'm hearing the audio from this. Are you? No, you're not, but here
3:04
Let's see if this works. I'm not sure that's going to work
3:09
but suffice to say, I can hear this preview for the show collateral
3:15
Totally fine. And not only that, let me put these down, but I can actually
3:19
mute if I need to, I can suddenly turn the audio off so I can hear someone talking to me
3:25
It also has the ability to give you ambient audio, which is great. But much more exciting is I can adjust the volume for my earbuds for this TV content
3:36
completely independent of anyone else. Really cool. So let me tell you, just a little bit, let's start with this
3:42
So this has NFC pairing, as I've already demonstrated, and dual internal antennas
3:47
So you don't have to be line of sight. It actually has a pretty good range
3:51
And that's really nice because you can tuck this behind your television. Obviously, you're not going to have all the wires like this in a final setup
3:58
At least I hope not. It should look a little neater than this, right? Then on your smartphone, you use the IQ buds app, which you have already gotten with these earbuds
4:09
And it's already set up. You hook this into it. And now you can choose from listening to the audio on your phone or simply tapping and listening to the audio off of this device
4:19
the IQ Stream TV. It's really pretty easy to do. Now, they're using APTX low latency, so they have a
4:26
really nice sound codex, so it sounds really good. It's going to sound really good on these
4:31
If you're listening to the Symphony Orchestra or just want to watch Star Wars with the volume
4:36
way up, it's super fun. There's no lag. That's why they license the low latency APTX. So the lips
4:44
on the screen are going to be perfectly in sync with the sound that you getting through your ears Super important Now couple of limitations Number one it a maximum of one connection
4:55
So if you want multiple people to have this capability, maybe grandma and grandpa have listening issues
5:01
and they both need a little bit of an amp, then you might need to get two of these. That's kind of a drag
5:06
More importantly, you'd need two of these, and these are a lot more spendy. Now, there's no charger included either
5:12
But again, the idea with the micro USB is that most televisions on the back have a USB port that has power
5:19
So you just plug the wire in and that micro USB is included with the box
5:24
In fact, let's look in the box and I will show you. So by the way, this is the IQ buds boost
5:31
I believe you need the boost version of the IQ buds. They are a lot more expensive
5:35
So they are pretty spendy. But we will go back here and look in the box of the IQStream TV
5:42
So it has the AUX 3.5 millimeter to 3.5. That's the one I'm using
5:48
Also has this RCA adapter, which has this connection on one end and a 3.5 millimeter on the other
5:55
It has a lot of optical adapters, which is really nice. So it supports both what's known as SPDIF and TOS link
6:04
So you can see here, this one has various sort of connectors on the end
6:10
One of, you know, and between all these adapters, this is how you would probably end up going between your television and your soundbar because it's going to want to use optical
6:19
And optical is this connection and it's a pretty specialized connection, but if you can use it, you will get better audio
6:26
So all of these cables come with the device. Hopefully that'll get you working
6:30
If you're not positive, what you could do is you could take a photo of the back of your TV and a photo of your soundbar or whatever it is you're using and probably
6:40
email the company Newhira and ask them if these are going to be sufficient wires for you
6:45
My guess is it will, but who knows. Now, the device itself, as you can see, is pretty tiny
6:50
It's 3.2 inches by 2.4 inches, and it's less than an inch thick, and it's really negligible weight
6:58
This is something where you could easily use a two-sided Velcro tape and just tape it to the
7:03
back of your TV. You'd never even know it was there. It would be always available
7:07
Whenever you wanted to you jump into your app and boom you ready roll And then if you know Uncle Joe takes off for a couple of months going to florida for the winter or something no problem don even worry about it when he comes back it ready to go super
7:20
easy so all this left to talk about is the price and this is a fairly spendy setup but there's a lot
7:26
to really like about it not the least of which is it sounds great and it's really comfortable but
7:32
before we get to the price let me ask if you can subscribe to my channel really appreciate when you do
7:37
that and leave a comment if you you are using something for audio assist on your television
7:43
Tell me what it is in the comment. I'm really curious how people set this up and how they get it all to work for them
7:48
Okay, so now let's see. This is the NewHira IQ Stream TV
7:55
with all of these cables and everything, and it will cost you $99 at newhira.com
8:01
Please be aware that you must also have, whoops, let's open this up
8:07
You must also have the IQ buds boost, and they are pretty expensive
8:13
They're $499. Again, check out my review here on YouTube, and you'll find out why they're so expensive
8:20
and why they're so darn cool. Think of these as a hearing aid that happens to also play music, and you'll understand
8:27
and that price suddenly seems a whole lot more rational. But you will need these to be able to work with the IQ Stream TV
8:35
but if you can get it all hooked up and you got it all working, it's pretty fantastic
8:40
And I really like the app and I love that I have that independent volume control
8:45
And not only that, but I can actually adjust how much ambient sound from the environment gets to me too
8:51
So if I'm watching TV in a social setting, I can dial back the TV and make sure I can hear all the conversations around me
8:58
or possibly the opposite and shut everyone out and just listen to that darn game
9:03
Either way, definitely worth checking out if you have some hearing issues and you really want to be able to enjoy your TV or movies or streaming content or sports or whatever
9:14
So with that, I'll catch you in my next video
