Sports earbuds for the price of a water bottle? Let's check them out
0:10
Dave Taylor here, and I'm always on the lookout for new sports headphones for when I'm working
0:15
out at the gym or I'm out for a run or a bike ride or whatever. So, enter these. These are the
0:21
V-Nax Pogo sports headphones, and they're pretty cool, actually. First thing to notice
0:28
They have a magnet, so they're easy to have around your neck. And they have a very nice inline control system, one of the nicer looking ones I've seen
0:37
I really like that. But let me tell you a little bit about their specs, and then we'll talk about the sound
0:42
So, from a specs perspective, Bluetooth 4.1, they're sweat-proof. They don't have an IPX rating, but hopefully fully sweat-proof
0:50
They have a metallic housing, so it's not all plastic like so many of these are
0:54
you'll notice a fairly distinct earpiece that hopefully gets it to fit in your ear nicely
1:00
More importantly, if you look, it's a nice deep sort of connection into your ear
1:06
So when you put these in, they actually go in and they stay in nice and firm
1:11
I really like that that when I wear these that they quite comfortable and it works really well Let me take a moment scan here As with all of these you want to change the ear tips to get the best fit I always just jump to the biggest
1:24
ear tips and then work my way down. Makes a massive difference in the sound. Really makes a lot of
1:29
difference. These two hour charge, eight hours playback. As you can see here, you can see your
1:35
battery level at any point on your iPhone. Android should do the same basic thing and the speakers
1:42
themselves. They're 13 millimeter drivers and they have built in the Qualcomm CVC system and
1:48
a Kalimba DSP. In other words, they should have good sound and they do have good sound
1:53
And sound reproduction, 40 to 18,000 Hertz. I suppose you're getting that. I don't think I can
2:00
hear up to 18,000 Hertz. So it goes. You might hopefully be able to. If not, you can have your
2:05
dog listen to these while you're on a run. Probably not recommended. I'm not sure they
2:09
would stay in your dog's ears. One of the funny things about this is they have what they call
2:15
intelligent voice control. And it actually tells you that when you turn them on, but it doesn't
2:20
actually have voice control. And not only that, but what it says at different points is kind of
2:24
funny So when you skip to the next song it just says this song this song I don know whether it supposed to be saying you know your song or next song or something but whatever it is it a little confusing that it says that And then it doesn say for example power on or pairing
2:43
And it certainly doesn't say power off. You get a nice little do-do-do-do-do, so that's not bad
2:48
But if they're going to say intelligent voice control, then it should be voice control
2:53
Probably no one's going to care other than me. But when I turn it on and it says voice control, I immediately start saying headphones, next track
3:02
And of course, nothing happens. Now, when I'm at the gym, people are looking at me like, dude, shh, just go and listen to your music
3:08
Speaking of which, let's talk about the sound. They actually have pretty nice sounds
3:13
So the V-Nex Pogo, which is what these are, have a nice range of sound
3:19
But there's not much soundstage and they're a little muddy. So these are really not what you want to listen to if you're just like doing audiophile reproduction
3:28
And you're listening to classical music because you really want to catch that killer oboe part
3:32
Is there killer oboe parts? We'll assume there's a killer oboe part and these probably aren't going to get that for you
3:39
But if you're in the gym and you've cranked it up And you're listening to some death metal while you're doing that one last rep on the bars
3:46
That these are going to work great It going to be fine You going to enjoy these It work great for news programs or audio books I actually listen to audio books at the gym Considerably less inspiring but more
3:58
you know, to me, better use of time. I really like these. I think they've done a lot right with these
4:04
you know, all the voice comments, whatever. But there's nice build quality. The magnets
4:10
a nice little additional feature. The inline controls are really good. There's a lot to like
4:16
about these. Now, before I tell you the price, which is really all we have left to talk about
4:20
let me ask if you can click on that subscribe button. And if you've liked this and you appreciate
4:25
me taking some time out from my workout to tell you about these, then go ahead and click on that
4:29
thumbs up too. I really appreciate the feedback. Now, these V-Nax Pogo sports headphones that are
4:36
sweat proof and ready to rock and roll with Bluetooth 4.1, how much? They are $32.99 at
4:44
amazon.com. Not a bad price at all, and these would actually serve you really well on your workouts
4:50
so I recommend you check them out. I'm Dave Taylor. I'm back to my own workout, and I'll catch you in my next video
