VISIT NICARAGUA: https://www.instagram.com/visitanicaragua CARLOS: https://www.instagram.com/carlostapiapineda MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG: https://davidsbeenhere.com/ My time in beautiful San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua continued with an epic trip to the local municipal market. Come with me as I enjoy a fantastic Nicaraguan food breakfast as I explore the central market in San Juan del Sur! Even at 7 in the morning, the market is lively and bustling and full of friendly cooks and vendors! It’s the perfect place in town to have an exciting food adventure. DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH: https://teespring.com/stores/davids-been-here Immediately, my friend Carlos from Visit Nicaragua and I came across some cheese, fruits, and vegetable vendors, as well as women making corn tortillas. They mix cheese with the corn dough and grill them until they’re crispy. Then, we saw another vendor making tortillas from maseca, which is a different type of flour. The vendors were outside and inside were the restaurants. We cam across a restaurant selling traditional foods including gallo pinto and a creamy cause with lots of jalapeños, onions, and cream! You eat the jalapeño sauce with meat and chicken. But I got the gallo pinto with huevos rancheros, maduros, avocado, and a tortilla. The gallo pinto contained nice al dente red beans. I also loved the red and green peppers in the eggs. A big of eggs, cheese, and gallo pinto together was perfect! I added a bit of everything to the tortilla and made a taco. The mix inside was outstanding, especially with the sweet plantain. Adding spicy picante sauce made it even better. It was delicious and filling! Then, the waiter brought some chilero, which is a mix of three different chilies, onions, and vinegar. They make it in-house. He pulled out a pepper at the bottom that he said is the devil! It was hot! It was a fantastic meal for just 80 cordobas, which is less than $3 USD!
