Cocker Spaniel Hunting Quartering Training with Nimrod
Letting Nimrod my Cocker Spaniel have a run through some dead bracken. Very windy day but coming along nicely considering the ground was dry and scent was pretty difficult. Saw a few partridges and a hare this morning so it's good ground for a young dog to work on provided we don't get into chasing. Wind coming from right at the start and you'll see how I try to get him to work ground from my left casting out then back towards me, working to the right. Then facing wind, which is best for young dog, quartering left to right. Always try to keep wind blowing into your dog's nose, let him work it and don't be too concerned at this time with strict quartering patterns.
