As we enter Holy Week in our calendar, we look to Jesus and explore one of my favourite aspects of his nature, his humility
0:20
There has actually never been in history a greater expression of humility than we find in the person of Jesus Christ
0:27
It is stunning to read in the Bible, in the book of Philippians 2, that God humbled himself
0:35
and found in human form, that is in the historic person of Jesus, he humbled himself by becoming
0:42
obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. The ways of God often seem upside down
0:49
in their nature and totally different to our world's understanding of power and significance
0:55
Jesus, the King of the heavens and the earth, who can heal every disease and sickness and raise the dead
1:02
chooses instead the path of humility that will ultimately lead to his death on a cross on Friday for the sake of others
1:11
He did this so that he would ultimately have the final word and authority over death and darkness
1:18
And this is what we celebrate on Easter Sunday. and he invites us to choose humility
1:25
It is a posture that simply acknowledges, I am not God. He is God, the creator of the universe
