Well, how about meeting the new ABBA? It's what a lot of people are calling Dad Harmony
0:05
It's a new Swedish acapella group that are the biggest TikTok sensation you can imagine
0:13
They are everywhere at the moment, and they join us now. Really good to see you. With us we have this morning Thomas, Michael, Sebastian, Peter and Adam
0:23
Not necessarily in that order, but I know it was. There we go. Gents, it's really good to see you
0:28
I've got to ask, first and foremost, how did you get started? How do you even get together and think, this is something we can do
0:34
Yeah, it's actually all of a coincidence, to be honest. We were friends, but we were at Peter at the bachelor party
0:43
And like 10 p.m. or something, we started to sing. And I recorded that song
0:49
And for some reason, I put it out on my TikTok account with like seven followers or something
0:54
and then it blew up and got like the first video got 22 million views i think and then we thought
1:02
like yeah we need to continue doing this uh so that's how it all started and did you know
1:09
straight away that this was something special or was it only when you started to pick up all those
1:13
followers i think it's been like two million followers on tiktok already haven't you that then you were like no people like this we should keep going yeah no we had no idea from the start
1:21
of course. So we said to each other like we have to try one more video to see if this was a coincidence or what going on And then we tried another song and it was also appreciated
1:35
So we just kept going with it. But how does it feel then to be going from this online and a growing online sensation to doing stuff in the flesh, in real life and actually doing proper concerts
1:47
yeah it's uh i think for especially you thomas you haven't been on stage for your since uh school
1:55
yeah like our first show was in the swedish television uh so that was special yeah yeah
2:02
what do your kids make of what you're doing because i think you've got something like 11 children between you haven't you so what the kids must think their dad is so cool yeah maybe
2:11
some of them are quite small so i don't think they really get what we're doing but they
2:17
love to sing and they love to hang out with each other so that's that's great and it's quite nice
2:22
to see on tiktok the children actually get involved in the rehearsals don't they'll often
2:26
be on your laps or just kind of listening in as you're rehearsing together it's lovely
2:30
yeah it's super nice and we usually bring the kids to make it easier for our girlfriends at home so
2:37
we can bring them and our kids can play when we sing and if they want to they come and join us
2:42
when we sing and sit on the couch or if they want to go and play there are somewhere else in the
2:46
and playing when we sing. What is happening next? I mean Adam because you all got jobs You all got proper normal jobs Yeah So is that going to stop now do you think I don know I hope you not watching my employer
3:03
We'll see. We'll see what happens in the future. The next thing for us here in the UK is coming back in November for a concert the 28th of November
3:13
Oh, great. And where will that be? Cadogan. Cadogan. Cadogan. We're not going to criticize you for getting a pronunciation wrong
3:21
because I can tell you, my Swedish, all I can say is tack. That is it. Tack
3:25
Thank you. How do you feel about the comparisons to ABBA? That's great, isn't it
3:31
Can Swedish people just sing really well? Is that a thing? You've won Eurovision seven times. Yeah
3:37
It's hard to answer that question. But it's, of course, yeah, well, ABBA is ABBA, so
3:44
I don't know if we have maybe we have like a big song tradition
3:49
in Sweden, I don't know about that but it feels like we have that and AB of course
3:54
they were pioneers in the area and we love them in this country as well
3:59
we do, we do maybe you're going to be pioneers in terms of acapella
4:04
because it's been around for a very long time but to bring it back to a new audience
4:08
and a younger audience is quite something yeah, well let's hope that we are bringing joy
4:14
to the acapella world with what we're doing. But yeah we hoping for that All right gents we been impressed by what we heard earlier on Should we give everyone a bit of a treat Absolutely and you in for a treat OK sounds good Yeah in your own time
4:29
OK, yeah. OK, yeah. OK, yeah. One, two, three. Oh, I never made promises like me
5:10
Oh, and there have been some that are broken. Oh, but I swear to date you let us leave all your fears
5:25
Oh, when we walk. Up the fields go. Ah, brilliant
5:38
Absolutely incredible. I've got goosebumps. Beautiful. Just gorgeous. Well, look, gents, really good to see you this morning
5:44
And we look forward to seeing you in November when you're back. We'll be there, cheering you on
5:49
Really good to see you. Thank you very much indeed
