Well, hello there! My name is Janek and I will be your Prague guide
0:03
We're at the Prague airport, Vaclav Havel Airport, and on today's episode we're going to show you how to get from the airport to the city center of Prague
0:18
Most likely you will arrive at Terminal 2 here in Prague. The situation is roughly the same as at Terminal 1, which is really close by walkable distance
0:26
From here you have a couple of choices how to get to the city center of Prague. The first obvious one would be to take a taxi or an Uber or some other app
0:34
which would cost you between 15 or 20 euros. But we think you should take the public transport because it's fast, cheap, reliable
0:42
and it only costs like 1.5 euros. I said the price in euros, but in Czech Republic, we use Czech crowns
0:49
So the price for the ticket to go to the city center is 32 Czech crowns
0:53
You don't have any Czech crowns, so you got to exchange them at the exchange office
0:57
or get them out of an ATM? Don't do that. That's a big rip off at the airport
1:01
You can just go to the machine to buy the ticket there with your card Buying a ticket here is super simple You hit the english flag buy tickets you select you want it
1:16
for 90 minutes which is 32 crowns you can even buy a full day or three day ticket and you pay
1:21
with cart and that's it and you just tap your cart right here now we have our ticket but there's a
1:29
common mistake among tourists in prague they sometimes forget to validate the ticket and you
1:34
do that on the bus there's a machine you put the ticket as the arrow shows it does a click
1:39
and it prints the time on the ticket and since then your 90 minutes are running really don't
1:45
skip buying the ticket or don't forget to validate it because if you do not do these steps you can
1:50
get fined by the people on the bus or on the metro and it can cost you the fine up to 50 euros so
1:57
1.5 euros is much better and that's our bus here we go you want to look for the bus 119 that goes
2:04
to the metro that will later get you to the city center. So 1.19, let's go
2:26
So You don need to worry about where to get off the bus because you actually are going to take it to the very last stop which is Nadra Velislav where you will transfer to the metro Also everybody else is getting off here
2:47
Hey, first time on an escalator in Prague, we stand on the right, walk on the left
2:58
Even though there are other machines to validate your ticket, you've already done that on the bus
3:02
And the ticket is valid for the bus, for the metro, for the tramways in Prague
3:06
It's good for 90 minutes, for anything. Your metro is the one on the right
3:16
towards the city center. We got off the train and if you wondering which exit to take those signs can help you Those will always tell you which way is each exit leading to and since we going to
3:41
Václavské náměstí, we're going that way. And here we are, 30 minutes later, minus 1.2 euros, we are in the city center of Prague
4:03
When we travel with Honda, we use the public transport all the time. It's safe and easy, so you do not need to worry about it, especially now, since you have our little guide for it
4:12
We will cover more of the Prague public transport in the future episodes
4:15
how to jump around on the trams, how to use the fenicolor, the ferries, the buses
4:20
how can you even take a ride on the old historical tram. So make sure to subscribe and follow our channel
4:25
Give us a thumbs up, write something in the comments, and I'll see you next week on another episode of The Honest Guide
4:34
