How to start a Print On Demand store step by step
0:03
Hey guys, welcome back to the YouTube channel. Today, we will be going over how you can get started with building your own Print on Demand
0:11
store. So let's get into it. Now, Print On Demand is a very popular format, and there are a
0:18
couple of key things that you need to know before you get into creating your own store
0:23
First off, the store that you're creating, you can choose two types of store. Either you can sell your
0:29
product on a multi-platform like Etsy or Amazon or you can create your own store with your own domain
0:37
and hosting like using Wix WordPress Squarespace or any other website builder. Secondly, are you providing
0:44
customizable products so are the products that you are providing will they be customized by
0:50
the consumer or are you creating those print on demand designs yourself and then selling them. So
0:57
So there are two options in terms of products. Let's say you create a very cute character design and people can write their name and have a t-shirt printed
1:05
So each person will print their own name and it would be a print on demand store
1:11
The other type of store is where you will create your own print on demand product and then sell them to consumers as normal products
1:19
You can do both of these. Both of these are very easy to do and you can provide customizations in your print on demand products if you want
1:26
That just adds a little bit of a layer of complexity, but you can easily do that and manage that with your supplier
1:33
Now, moving on to how you can get started. Now, the first thing you need to do is choose your niche
1:41
So there are multiple different categories of product. Let's say you want to get started in print on demand, but you have no idea where you are supposed to get started
1:51
So let's say you picked up a hoodie, picked up a t-shirt, but you don't really like to
1:56
the designs that you're creating how they appear on that. Maybe your designs are better
2:00
suited for mugs or crockery or maybe it better suited for key chains So it very essential to keep that in mind whenever you are building your print store so if i search for the customizable t customizable tote bags
2:16
so you can see there are multiple different uh etzy listings over here that are available for customizable
2:22
t-shirts or totes or you know many different products so you want to make sure that whatever you
2:27
choosing is the correct niche for you it should be something if you're creating the designs yourself
2:32
it should be something that looks good. That is your first and foremost thing
2:36
If you are creating something that the consumer will design or customize themselves
2:40
you need to make sure that it looks very interesting. The advertisement for that needs to be good enough
2:47
It needs to be very interesting. So that is the first thing you want to do
2:53
Now, moving on to the second step of building your store. That is the designs
2:58
Now, there are two ways you can do this. You can go onto a platform like Fiverr Upwork or any other platform and you can actually hire designers
3:07
So you can hire logo designers if you want to find someone for cheap
3:11
You can see there are multiple different graphic designers available. They charge anywhere between $10 to $30 to $50
3:18
And you can easily find someone for around $50 an hour that can create amazing designs for your print-on-demand business
3:26
That is totally up to you if you want to create your own designs. you can go onto a platform like Canva, Canva Pro as well, where you can get access to a lot more designs
3:36
You can go ahead and search for mockups as well. You can build the mockups for your designs as well
3:42
And you can open up, you know, any kind of design. So let's say I just take a head
3:48
So if I just search for hoodie designs, you can actually see some amazing designs available
3:53
And I can just click on this design, customize this template. and I actually have like a really nice little design already created there are
4:01
multiple different designs you can choose from you have this one you have street
4:06
where we have you know a bunch of different options we can choose from so you have a lot of different options you can create by this and then start selling your designs You have you know canvas licensing terms as long as you customizing a design
4:23
So if you're customizing any element, you're adding your own stuff, then you can resell, you know, pre-existing elements
4:29
So you are able to sell these as well. So you can hire someone or create your own designs
4:35
You have chosen to, you know, do that. Now, what is the next step
4:39
Well, the next step is a fulfillment company. So who is actually going to make the design print it out, printed on the t-shirts
4:47
mugs, or whatever, and sell it to your customer? Well, those kinds of websites are known as fulfillment sites
4:54
and you might know them as Red Bubble or Printify or Printiful
4:58
There are a bunch of different options available. The most popular three are Red Bubble, Printify, and Printful
5:05
All three of these are available for free. You can start selling your products for free
5:09
and I would recommend all three of these personally. There are not some major differences, they have some minute differences
5:16
but they both all three of these pan out very well. Especially Printify, I really like using Printify for the time being that I have used it
5:25
It was good. It also has multiple different target markets, so you can choose that
5:30
You can also choose to include gift packaging, and it has a bunch of different options
5:34
So in your catalog, you can see men's clothing, the different things you can
5:39
design you have women's clothing kids clothing accessories home and living items on red bubble you
5:44
also have a bunch of different categories they even have pets and stationary gifts and other design
5:51
elements that you can create so i do think red bubble has a larger category of items that you can
5:57
customize though once you have chosen the supplier or the fulfillment center for your
6:04
print on demand products the next thing you want to do is select your website hosting so
6:09
So as I said on the start of the video, you can choose to sell on Etsy or you can choose to sell on Wix or Wix or any other ecom platform
6:17
I recommend for a beginner if you don have a large you know audience already You can start on Etsy or Amazon The reason being you don have to do a lot of marketing and people can organically fall upon your product
6:30
Let's say I really like octopuses. So I'm just going to search for octopus t-shirt on Etsy
6:36
and there are so many printed shirts and I might buy one. So a person might just search for something organically
6:42
and they might fall upon your design and will buy it. However, getting a person to visit your website
6:48
was it your own purchasing method, you know, your own thing is going to be slightly more difficult
6:54
So I do think maybe you should start with both or start with Etsy or Amazon and then move towards your website
7:00
Because if you're using Etsyar Amazon, you don't have to pay for hosting fees, domain name fees
7:05
If you are going to create your own e-commerce website, you will have to deal with hosting, domain names
7:11
Although you can get all of that for under $30. I'm pretty sure with a basic domain name, you can get it around $16
7:18
If you get the premium plan on Wix, you get the domain name for free for one year
7:23
So you can get that as well. And you can try it out
7:27
And that is one option. And domain renewals usually cost around $12 to $20
7:33
So it just is a little additional cost. And if I'm looking to start a business where I don't have to invest anything, I don't like to incur additional costs
7:42
So that is just one thing you can do. Then you can move on to creating your own website
7:46
Now, after you have done this, the last part is to start marketing
7:52
So by marketing, you are going to promote on social media, on Instagram, Facebook, Facebook groups
7:58
You can start promoting, you can create an Instagram page for your business, you can name your
8:02
brand and then, you know, create Canva mockups and then post them on Instagram
8:07
So you have those options as well. I hope you guys found this video helpful and you are now able to get started with the basics of
8:16
your own print-on-demand business. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe to our YouTube channel
