Are we going to focus? Good morning everybody and welcome to my first day here in Istanbul
0:05
I've been to Istanbul before but I haven't really recorded it so today we're going to go and explore
0:10
this incredibly beautiful city and I will take you guys along with me. I'm really really excited
0:15
I'm a little bit tired as always so coffee is the first stop but I can't tell you how happy I am to
0:21
be back. As soon as I landed in the airport I just felt like I was back in a second home and
0:26
I love it. So let's have a great day. Let's go and explore and I'll take you guys along with me
0:48
All right, you guys after a really quick metro ride and a really quick walk down
0:52
I'm now at Sultanahmet Square. This is where the majority of the tourists come
0:56
but as you can probably see around me there's no one around i think i'm the only tourist i am the
1:01
only tourist i've seen maybe i'll see some more inside the square but i'm so excited to be back
1:07
this is also one of my favorite spots in istanbul you've got the blue mosque the haggia sofia and
1:13
a lot of street food vendors so maybe we'll get some food and it's just a great place just to hang
1:17
out and you see all the locals as well hanging out which is really really nice
1:26
It's a really strange feeling to be honest because I don't think I've ever seen Istanbul
1:39
this quiet. I've been here multiple times and it's never ever been this quiet. There
1:46
is no one around and I am still just the only tourist here which is great for me because
1:50
I get to see what the locals are up to and yeah but it's really really strange
1:56
Have a look Okay, to start the day I'm gonna run into the Hagia Sophia
2:10
Every time I come to Istanbul the queues are always huge and currently there is no one in the queue
2:15
So right now is the best time for me to go I've been inside once when I was 17 or 16 so many many years ago
2:22
But I'm so excited to go back in it's a beautiful building and I'll show you when I get inside
2:26
We have Okay, safe to say
2:51
I am completely blown away by what's inside of it I like I said I've been here once before so many years ago maybe six years ago
3:02
five years ago and it still just hasn't just the awe and the beauty inside of here is just insane this place is the
3:12
meeting of multiple different religions and you can really tell inside it's
3:17
architecturally insanely beautiful and the colors and the Islamic scriptures on the walls and just insane look at this I never seen Christianity and Islam meet so incredibly in one place It just
3:58
honestly a masterpiece. It looks insane. How incredible was that? I'm not a big history guy but that was just insane. Over 500 years old
4:21
and as you saw it was just amazing. I think it's time to grab some food. It's a few hours
4:27
later after I left and I've been pretty hungry and sleepy like him so yeah let's
4:37
grab some food I'll probably get something off the street and then we'll
4:41
eat big later so let's get some food and then I'll take you guys into the blue mosque
4:57
you guys know I couldn't come to Istanbul without eating menaman for the first meal in Turkey
5:17
so yeah I'm really excited so that was incredible as always it was such a good first meal back in Turkey I
5:32
can actually record me eating it because there were planes to lean beyond and it
5:36
would be copyrighted so I'm not gonna do that now I'm gonna head to the Blue Mosque
5:41
yeah I can't I can't really tell you how happy I am to be back I just feel so at home
6:27
Incredible. Every time I come back I just feel so blessed to be able to come back here
6:33
So peaceful and quiet I love it. It's under a lot of construction since the first time I came but still such a blessing
7:27
Wow okay Instantly relaxed after I left there Every time I come here I just I just feel so peaceful
7:45
My heart and just... I feel very relaxed and I feel amazing
7:50
So, yeah. The gardens around this place are just beautiful too. It's starting to get busier now
8:03
I love that they have all of the signs outside as well just for anyone who's learning about Islam
8:09
like I am as well you can you can see all of the posters just explaining even like the five
8:18
pillars of Islam articles of faith prophet Muhammad peace be upon him just all the information that
8:23
you need and things like that it's just really really nice just to see
8:27
that people could come here and learn about Islam and I think it's great
8:33
Okay, I've done my Sultanahmet Square now, I'm going to head towards the water where the Galata Bridge is
8:38
We'll head there, I've got to pick up some 35mm film for my film camera because tonight, now the sun is coming out
8:44
I'm going to go to Ouskara which is on the other side of the water, other side of the Bosphorus, to shoot the sunset
8:50
And I'll obviously take you guys along with me. And yeah, so let's head towards the water, maybe grab some food as well and see what happens
9:03
The streets around Istanbul are probably one of the main reasons why I love just wandering
9:10
around the city, especially when it's this quiet. I'm the only tourist I've seen and this
9:16
city honestly, if you're a photographer, it's just a photographer's paradise because of
9:21
all the incredibly old buildings I just showed you. This street itself is just amazing. So
9:32
if you're into photography, this is the place for you. so i just met one of the viewers of this channel so great to meet you um thank you for coming to
10:12
say hi it's so nice to see the faces behind the people who watch this channel all right guys it's
10:17
a bit later in the day now i've just been de-sweating in my room it's really really hot
10:24
today and the sun is just coming out and right now is a great time to go to uskida to watch the
10:29
sunset so that is what we're gonna do we'll go and grab the ferry across the
10:33
Bosphorus and go and see it I'm so excited to see Istanbul during sunset so
10:41
let's go I've made it to Uskarø which is where a lot of the locals hang out to watch the sunset
11:05
so that's exactly what I'm going to do. The light is beautiful. I'm so happy to be back
11:09
here. I've been to this side of the Bosphorus a couple of times but I never get to spend
11:15
that long here and since I'm in Turkey for quite a while I do have time to spend a little
11:51
really windy so I hope you can hear me but a lot of people keep asking me questions in Turkish I'm not sure whether I'm coming across as Turkish or
11:58
the mask is hiding my facial features I'm not really sure but it's so nice down here
12:03
I hope you can hear me anyway. We're gonna stay here for sunset. You can see Maidens Tower just there
12:11
and the sun is setting just there Alright you guys, I've just come down to the waterfront now and it's absolutely beautiful. Look at this
12:34
I don't think there could have been a better way to end my first day here. I just had some food as well
12:40
I put the picture on the screen. It was okay. I'm still really full for lunch but I'm just playing a way of just the power of saving waterfront
14:21
One insanely beautiful end to the first day in this incredible country
14:28
I am so excited to be wrong. I can't let me tell you how happy I am and just to end it with that sunset just filled
14:38
me with so much happiness. So I wish I could just bottle up this feeling and take it with me everywhere I go
14:46
I never experienced happiness like it until I'm in Turkey and yeah I love it so much
14:54
I'm going to head back to the hotel now and I'm going to relax so I hope you guys enjoyed this video
14:59
and I will see you in the next video. The next video is really exciting I'm filming with one
15:07
of my favourite Turkish bloggers so I hope you're excited for that. Keep an eye on my Instagram if
15:10
you want to see who it is before the video post so until then stay safe, stay happy, see you soon
