Hey, good afternoon everybody from a very cold Berlin here in Germany. Today I'm heading on
0:04
probably one of the most exciting trips of my whole life. Today I'm finally heading to
0:08
Bangladesh. I think I have about a 13 hour flight. Firstly to Istanbul and then to
0:13
Dhaka, one of the most populated cities in the world. First flight is with Turkey
0:17
second flight is with Oman. I'm leaving the weather here about minus one. Yesterday it was
0:21
snowing. I also picked up a new backpack for this trip. I'm traveling super light back to my basics
0:27
of backpacking so I just ordered a quick taxi to the airport because of course I'm running really late
0:31
let's go to Bangladesh just arrived at the airport I had a Turkish Uber driver from a really small town
0:46
in near Ankara and he was so nice so friendly finally let's go to Bangladesh
0:57
thank you finally made it past security it got my boarding passes when you're going to bangladesh
1:06
now finally after covid they open up visa on arrival so what they ask you for when you check
1:11
in is your onward flight and also your vaccination status so this is all good the only thing i'm a
1:17
little bit worried about is the visa on arrival so i heard online that if you have a visa on arrival
1:24
you need an omar ticket plus hotel booking and a letter of invitation and i don't actually have
1:29
the letter of invitation so i guess we're going to find out if we can make it inside but yeah my
1:35
first flight is at 7 p.m i have a two and a half hour later in istanbul which actually i thought
1:40
was katar but it's not it's istanbul and then finally we will make it to bangladesh at about
1:46
12 30 tomorrow hello hello thank you Ladies and gentlemen and dear children welcome to Istanbul Airport meeting point of the world
2:24
So I completely forgot that for my visa on arrival into Bangladesh
2:32
I need to have my documents printed, my hotel booking and my onward flight
2:37
I'm also going to print my visa for the next country that I'm going to. And I completely forgot
2:42
But actually, I just found out that here in Istanbul, they have a business corner where you can actually come and print out all your documents
2:48
I've never seen this before. So just a little tip for you. If you haven't printed anything and you really desperately need it
2:54
this is where you come. It's by Icy Walkie, I think the name is
2:59
But you can find it. It's just IGA Business Corner. It saved my life
3:03
Okay, managed to exchange money. Print the documents for the visa on arrival You need I think 50 or in cash which I didn have So I managed to do that And I running from my gate I wouldn be in an airport catching flight if I wasn really really late on final call
3:18
I think of about four minutes until my flight closes. Inshallah, I make it. Hello
3:24
Hello. Hello, please. Can I say hello
3:36
Yes. Hi. I hate running through airports. I don't know why I do it to myself every single time
3:48
But I got out of the checking counter. It was super nice. Alhamdulillah. I made it
3:52
This flight is really long. It's about seven hours and 15 minutes
3:57
One of the longest flights I've taken in a while. So hopefully I'll sleep, inshallah
4:01
and then we can explore when I first arrive. Ladies and gentlemen and dear children, we hope that you had a pleasant flight
5:24
Okay, got my visa on arrival and my sim card took roughly about an hour
5:29
Welcome to Bangladesh. After flying for about 13 hours I've just arrived here at the capital city of Dhaka
5:47
actually the most densely populated city in the world as you can tell it's so busy behind me
5:51
I've just arrived in old Dhaka I've got about two hours left of daylight Oh Wow look at this chicken the smells
6:32
Okay so first stop, of course has to be food. I'm so hungry after that flight
6:38
I'm jumping into a pretty famous street food place here. It's actually called Beauty Lassi
6:42
They're selling Lassi's behind me. I'm gonna give it a try in a second
6:46
Also try some chicken with rice. I'm so happy to be here you guys
6:50
The environment so far has been so welcoming and so friendly. People all around me smiling already
6:55
It's gonna be a great trip. Chicken here. Wow, beautiful spices. I've missed this food
7:01
Rice here with onions and chili. The chicken is cold. I'm not sure if that's really nice
7:26
It's so good. It's not too spicy. I actually can eat more twice
7:40
Wow, first meal in Bangladesh. And it's really good. There's only a small amount of daylight left
7:51
I've come to, I think, what is one of the most popular spots here down in old Dhaka
7:56
I've come to the Asan Manzil Museum. The beautiful pink building behind me with the sun session just ahead of me
8:03
It's an incredible spot. I think most locals come here during the evening just to hang out
8:07
A lot of photographers here. Hi, guys. You can see how many people are here
8:14
So many. It's so busy. This building is beautiful. Hi, guys. I've got a crowd behind me as always here
8:22
Hi guys Hello Welcome to Bangladesh Oh my god there's so many people
8:50
As-salamu alaykum As-salamu alaykum Wow Okay, the sun has just gone down and we've just arrived here
9:12
and the beautiful university here in Dhaka This area is actually famous for street food
9:16
and I've just picked up Baha Baha Bitta wow Wow It good
9:35
The rice is very plain, but then you all afford to add sugar on top. Here in these southern Asian countries, they add sugar to everything they possibly can
9:44
And it actually tastes amazing. It's great. Thank you
10:24
I just got a famous orange tea here in Dhaka and someone offered to pay for it
10:40
Incredible hospitality already here in Dhaka. Such a crazy area. As soon as the sun goes down, many people come here with the street food, tea, so much going on
12:20
I think I prefer this to Pani Puri, you can actually put it in your mouth in one go
12:27
And those bites are like a small explosion of love. They're great
12:37
The best thing I've tried so bad today
