Hey everyone! Welcome back to my kitchen where everything is made from scratch and home preserved

I'm Jenni and today I just wanted to bring you along. It's my first video in a long time, so bear with me

I am going to make quick sushi bowls at home. Instead of taking all the time to roll up the little sushi rolls, I have all the components

components I'm just gonna put them right into a bowl and we're gonna do this the

easy way and the best part you can use a fork to eat it so let's get started the

first thing I'm doing is prepping all the veggies going into my bowls I have

cucumber here I diced them small you can put them in the little you can

julienne them if you prefer like in the little rolls but I just diced them small

and I have mine soaking in vinegar and water to kill the chemical in the

cucumber that hurts your stomach. I have carrots I'm also going to put in but I

think I'm gonna grate those. Next I got one bunch of green onions that I am going to slice

You can cut them on the diagonal, you can cut them straight across, however you want

These are kind of fun because you can be creative and put the flavors that you like in there

And it's just an easier version. And you can get as fancy as you want also

I don't think sushi, California sushi rolls have green onions in them, but I want my bowl

to have good flavor. So they are going on top of my... Next, I have two avocados. Avocados are

something that are usually in my California sushi rolls. Okay, I'm just going to do one avocado. I

don't think we each need a whole avocado with our sushi bowl. And then I'm going to use imitation

crab meat. And since there's only two of us, they have these cute little snack packs at the store

now I buy them and stick them in the freezer because they perfect for two people If you want real crab you can use canned crab meat or you can get the nice big cans from Costco

Usually the California rolls we get, I think they have this stuff in them. I'm just going to chop these small to match the rest of the bowl

Anyway, I like these But again, totally up to you

You want real crab meat However you like to eat it Or sushi grade fishes

Also, when we go out for sushi, I don't know about you guys, but it's an arm and a leg

You get your appetizers, drinks, your sushi rolls. It's pricey. This is a lot cheaper to do it at home

I did grab these at my local market. And this is just shrimp cocktail

So cooked shrimp and it comes with the sauce. For convenience these are also going to be chopped and added to my bowls

Because we love shrimp. You can put in as many as you like

These are peeled, deveined and cooked. And they come with a sauce, which I'll keep for another time

And then the rest of these we might eat with a sauce or just eat them with some lemon

I think two shrimps per bowl is good. The last thing is plain old cream cheese

Now, I don't know about you, but the California rolls I get have avocado and cream cheese

in them, and I love that about the California rolls. So I going to dice up some cream cheese But you can totally leave it out if you don like it

Sounds like a strange ingredient, but I love it. And believe me, I want cream cheese in everything

I'm going to make a sauce for the bowls as well. Okay, all those are chopped. I've got a bowl here

If you have sriracha mayo, you can use that. Because I'm going to mix mayonnaise and sriracha

And another sriracha. Okay, so... It actually doesn't turn out that spicy because you've got the ponzu

This is what I'm using. Kikumin ponzu. Ponzu is like a smoky, citrusy flavor

It's so good and it's my fave. so I'm just going to stir those together

and that is all I'm putting in there a bowl of rice

I've got some dulcet flakes and these are seaweed, I'm going to put these on first
