Arriving in the Cambodian capital is like arriving into chaos and disorder. For someone who is not used to travelling in such countries, Phnom Penh is imposing at first sight. The city, if you look at it superficially, has little to show the average tourist. It is when you go into its streets, into its central market, and when you learn about and understand its history in the genocide museum that you really start to see it with different eyes. We arrived at a station very close to the river. The country was still on its way, hundreds of tuk tuks calling us, rubbish on the sidewalks and electric poles where there is no room for another cable.
