DNC launches 'War Room' to combat Trump, Republicans

The Democratic National Committee is adopting a new approach to become more aggressive in holding the Trump administration and Republicans accountable

The DNC announced Monday the new war room will function as an ecosystem for information, research and media innovation

utilizing counter-programming to stay ahead of what they allege are lies from the right

DNC Chair Ken Martin says while Donald Trump continues to push an agenda that raises costs, destroys jobs and ruins lives

he also continues to lie, spin, and cheat his way out of accountability

And the DNC is doubling down on its efforts to provide the American people

with real facts and accurate information about the impact of his policies

Trump, you're fired! Trump, you're fired! This past Saturday, Americans from over 150 groups participated in hands-off protests across the country

unified in their opposition to the Trump administration's policies, including government downsizing, the removal of DEI, and immigration enforcement

We need to use everything in our toolbox. We can't afford to brush aside any part of our

movement. We need mutual aid. We need protest. We need direct action. We need a legislative

strategy. Through a walls-down approach, Democratic strategist Tim Hogan will lead the new tactic

under fresh efforts to drive change. The DNC is joining forces with state parties to host local events

where communities can share their concerns, highlight the impact of current policies, and hold leaders accountable

The party will engage social media influencers to connect with a larger audience

as more Americans turn to their phones for news. The War Room will work to broaden the DNC reach through engaging a variety of spokespeople to connect with diverse audiences in conservative and mixed political spaces The DNC will be the messaging hub for the Democratic

Network, sharing daily briefings, talking points, and polling insights to keep communication

consistent. To combat misinformation, they're leveraging a cabinet of experts and community

voices while strengthening media monitoring to address false narratives in real time

The DNC's research team maintains a file on prominent political figures, including Trump, Elon Musk, and Vice President J.D. Vance

to highlight the impact of current policies and spark public debate through traditional and digital media

The new initiative follows Cory Booker's historic 25-hour speech on the Senate floor

where he challenged Trump's policies, Republican-backed bills, and urged the Democratic Party to lead the change

There's a lot of people out there asking Democrats to do more and to take risks and do things differently

This seemed like the right thing to do. And from what my staff is telling me, a lot of people watched

And so we'll see what it is. I just think a lot of us have to do a lot more, including myself

Since Kamala Harris' defeat in the 2024 presidential election, the DNC has been working to rebuild voter trust while navigating Republicans' dominance

NBC News' latest national poll from March of this year shows the Democratic Party at an all-time low among registered voters, with only 27 percent having a positive view of the party

The poll also revealed that 65 percent of people want Democratic lawmakers to stand firm and push back against laws and policies introduced by the Trump administration
