Masters preps resume after heavy rain at Augusta National

It was a tough Monday for the Masters as heavy rain closed Augusta National to players and patrons

but Tuesday practice rounds began for golf's first major of the year

It's the annual sign that spring is in full swing and summer is just around Amen Corner

Nearly every big name in the game got out on the famed course Tuesday. Colin Morikawa

Xander Shoffley, Victor Hovland, and the defending champ Scotty Scheffler, among others

Scheffler's certainly confident knowing he's won twice on this course. When I think about getting ready for this week

when I step on the first tee on Thursday, I'm going to remind myself that I've done what I needed to do to play well

and it's all about going out and competing now. And so I really try not to look too much into the past

I try not to look too far into the future. I just like to stay in the present. After the rain out Monday

After Scheffler, he is the biggest favorite this week and can complete the career Grand Slam with a green jacket

But his four-year-old daughter Poppy might have some questions, as she did when he won the players three weeks ago

The day after the players, she went into school, and there was a couple of kids that had said some stuff to her

and she came home to me that day and said, Daddy, are you famous

I said it depends who you talk to So it a bit of a double sword you have to you have to you know um you know temper the expectations sometimes john rom has no reason

to temper expectations he won the masters in 2023 and he'll be playing along with a host of

other live golfers like bryson dechambeau brooks kepka and phil mickelson the majors are the only

tournaments where players from live and the PGA Tour compete these days. Any party that's

concerned about no solution in sight in terms of getting all the best together more often

I mean I think we all would like to see that but as far as I could tell and you guys could tell

that's not happening anytime soon so I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about that especially

having a week like this one. One more Tuesday Masters note, former world number one Jason Day

who turned heads with his outfit choices last year at the Masters, was asked by Augusta National

to tone down his fashion statements this week so the loud sweaters and the baggy pants won't be

stealing the show. Masters organizers say they like the focus to be on the competition of the

tournament and the golf course instead of any one individual. Unless, of course, they're wearing a
