24 Hours in Los Angeles on $100

All right, so we're in Los Angeles for the next 24 hours and we have $100 to survive

So right now we're in downtown LA which kind of feels like the center of everything

So we got $100 for the next 24 hours. Look, I'm already speaking like an American. We got $100 man

You know what the one thing I'm really pissed about is this is December, right

Look how beautiful and sunny it is. This is December. My whole life I've associated December to cold, miserable, horrible, rainy, wet, cold weather

And then you come here and these lot get to enjoy this. I'm like what the f***? Like this is so unfair

What f*** man? Like this is December. Okay so I need to find somewhere to like get rid of everything I'm wearing and start walking around like a local

Alright so just found a Starbucks across the street. We're gonna head in there, use the internet, find our bearings and no **** we're doing

over the next 24 hours. I am so freaking hot

If this ever happened in the UK, this lovely weather in December

literally we're all about to die like the earth is telling us guys this is like the final like

just enjoy this and then it's you're done look at this i still can't get over this all right so first

thing we want to do is find somewhere to sleep tonight okay last few days in new york was fun

but i'd like somewhere to rest my head and not feel like i'm going to get quotes at like 3am at

night so we're gonna address that we're gonna find a really nice hostel and just

splurge along like we have $100 you know looks pretty good so there we go we have somewhere for $25

leaving us with 75 for the next 24 hours I'm a youtuber well I'm a content creator I walk around and I document my

So here I was thinking I had a lot of money to spend and I'm going around buying freaking fruity desserts

and trying to get a haircut and jewelry. Just to realize that this 25 is in euros

And when you convert it to dollars and you add like their fees, it comes up to 39.50 in dollars

All right, so as I mentioned, we're down 39.50 for this, not 25 dollars

So that would be the highlights of paying $39.50 for this. Okie dokes so we have a rooftop pool area which looks pretty decent decent sized pool got some floaties in there we got a bar on the side got lovely weather tropical vibes

what more could you want? views for days Alright mate

Alright so I was going to get a nice cocktail. And lay by the pool

And just relax. But cocktails are about $20. Which is just ridiculous

The cheapest they have is the beer. For $9. What was your name

All right. We're out. We're fresh. We're clean. We've changed up. Now we're wearing something light

All right. So I just found a fast food truck. And nothing screams cheap

than a fast food truck. So let's see what the prices are like

I spoke too soon. Surprisingly, everything seems to be around the same price range

Whether it's in a store or it's a burger truck out on the street

it's like all $10 and above. And it's not surprising. The beer I bought alone was like $9

All right, we just walked into a supermarket. We're going to have a look around and see how the prices are like in here compared to what we're used to

We all hear about American prices being ridiculously expensive. All right, so you know discount aisles, right

I think this is the equivalent of discount aisles. They're all like yellow labels

And the cheapest yellow label is $4.95. Alright, so this is the hot food section

They've got loads of options. They've got sweet potato, or just potatoes and greens and mashed potatoes and more greens and chicken and the whole lot of rice

And for the box is $11.99. At least it says the box is $11.99

But then that's for one pound. So if you were to fill this up, the lady said this will come up to about £7 if you fill this up

So 7 times £11.99 is what you would pay if you filled this box up

Someone found out the price and then left a piece of mash

Someone was halfway scooping their mash and then figured out the price and then ran

So now I'm thinking, is it worth it? How much do you think this is going to come up to

Are you trying to feel it? I was tasting it. Are we allowed to taste it

I'm buying it. I got to know if it's good. $15 and it's hot, so it's going to be taxed

So it all depends on what you put. Wait, it's hot, so there's extra tax on top of that

It's hot food. So if it was just salad bar, it's not taxable. Cold food is not taxable

In California, and specifically in LA County, there's hot food taxes. called the hot food tax hot food tax wow wow wow wow are you not from california i'm not i'm from

england okay i'm just learning about all of this i think i'm gonna run now

and maybe just go back to the stores where i can predict the prices of what i'm buying and i know

exactly what i'm paying for what i'm getting here it's like fairy tale land they have like so many

delicious options and it kind of makes you kind of just like run wild with it

look at the size of this border so right now we're at the metro station we're going to jump on a train

and we're gonna go and look for the hollywood walk of fame i'm not sure what

the situation is here with barriers and paying for the train and if you can just go through but wherever the situation may be what i'd

usually do is i'll stand here for a few minutes and just watch what people do but the police are

right there and i don't think it's a good idea at the mall do you get caught pardon me do the police

like give you trouble um very rarely so if i went through now they wouldn't give me any trouble

well do you see anybody now well they're over there they're hiding over there behind there

yeah what should be fine I gonna take your word for it go through here go through here i just walked through and like there isn much to do here there isn what are you talking about

there's not a lot to do there well great cities in the world okay well you just have to it's it's

not a city that immediately presents itself to me you have to like you gotta look you gotta wait

you gotta search things out the little corners it's not like san francisco or london okay is

New York where it's like, oh, this is just there. The glory of it all that surrounds me

And, you know, there are the distances, too. I mean, it's just hard to get around

to see your face but really they're like just everyone else in the world I was

like really surprised as well when I go here I was like oh you guys are like just normal so from the station it's a 10 minutes walk to the walk of fame

okay so immediately you walk out the station it's literally lining the pavements

How much is it? Depends which one you like, small, medium, large. How much is this one

The big one is normally $30. $20 the medium. Wow, all right

How much do you want to spend? Let's start there. Maybe like $5. $5? $5? No

Okay, so we're in Hollywood. We're going to walk around and see what there is to do

I was going to get on one of these tours. They cost probably around like $40 to $50

I thought you know what, it's not worth it. I can just walk around and explore by myself

I won't be able to do all of that today. Look at this

so if you have a watch of 100 to try and like impress you know your day

but really you're like broke and you're crying by yourself in the house

alright so just found Madame Tussaud not sure if I have to pay for it but I think people can just walk in

and take a picture with Kobe Bryant Dwayne The Rock Johnson

and as much as I know as much as I know that this thing

is so scary man I don't know why I get scared of these things

I just have like this really weird fear that they're just gonna come alive

And like, he's just gonna like, hold me. . I mean, I wouldn't mind if she came alive

Right, we don't have $32.99 to spend, but at least we got a little teaser

That one's the scariest. I'm not even gonna go near it at all. We in Miami, baby

So this has been one big strip this whole time, and it still keeps going

It's actually quite a long walk. It's like, you can imagine there are a lot of celebrities

that don't even get to have their names on this floor. How they must feel

I guess I've been told to go and check out the Hollywood sign I've looked at it

on a map it's about an hour away from here so no Bruno oh this is the Chinese

theatre and there's a little oh right I've seen this This is this

Is it free to go in or No it isn movie ticket Movie oh this is a movie ticket Okay so I seen a picture of Jackie Chan with like putting his imprint in the sand

People here definitely try to like sell you stuff. What you can expect on this trip everyone's like selling stuff so

Oh yeah. okay so I've just seen like a shopping complex style place we're gonna walk

around and explore you got a gift for me? yeah what is the gift? you have to enter the window

I have to what? enter the window do I need to pay to enter? no it's free buddy

I was thinking LA, Los Angeles, obviously I'm barely scratching the surface

We go to Santa Monica or the beach or San Diego, all these places that people are talking about

Just haven't walked around, it's a bit of an anti-climax. And those are horrible

Alright, we're heading back. I just asked the assistant lady and she mentioned something about Santa Monica

I don't know if that's a journey for tonight. So we're going to call it

Okay, we're back downtown LA. I'm gonna walk around grab some dinner and then maybe if there's a bar or a club or something

happening I'm disappointed in Los Angeles there's all here there's nothing to do here it's like

island there's nothing to do all right so I'm just walking to a bar okay is someone sitting here

all right okay um can I can I ask um does this does this get lively later on

like in the evening? um, I'll tell you it's very thinnermis you know, like

today we're possibly gonna get busy yeah I think I found a place that might serve

all day breakfast so I thought I'd go for a sandwich because

I remembered I bought that pie that almond pie from that lady earlier

so that kind of counts as like pastry sweet pastry so I don't want to double up on sweet pastry

so I'm going to go for a sandwich later on I'll have that that's all about LA

and feels to the brim. Alright, so I'm back at the hotel. I'm on the roof

and there seems to be an event going on. The pool is

lighting up for different colours. But I think the pool closes at 7pm

so after that you can't really go in. Which is already closed

But, okay I'm going to hang around here for a bit. It's probably better than just

sitting in my hotel room. Miserable. I'll have the daily punch Alright guys

I guess this is how you spend 24 hours In LA The famous LA

To be honest It's not gone as exciting As I thought it would

But then I also haven't explored all the Really exciting parts Like Santa Monica
