Budget Weekend In Amsterdam for £150 - Day 2

Morning, 10 a.m. Day 2

Alright, so people are downstairs having breakfast. I didn't pay for breakfast, but I want to see if there was a vegan option and if I should have

Alright, so I think it was about 12 euros something to pay for breakfast

If I did, all I'd be having is fruit and fast ones and possibly bread

So, smart decision. I'm going to head out into the central to have breakfast

I'm going to hit the gym and then get on with the day. So we're going to head to the park and use the bars

What a beautiful morning. Especially in this location, just being amongst this

There's people running and skating, people exercising. There's people even doing yoga over there

Just finished doing some workout. I'm going to head to the spot that those guys were meditating

I'm gonna sit there and just reconnect Commune with my creator All right, we're clean and fresh

Today we are down to 64 pound which equates to 74 euros

Let's see what fun things we can do for that price I was wondering if I could rent a bike

Yes, you can do So over there you can see our rates

Alright, so the rates to rent a bike at the hostel are 8 euros per half day and 16 for the full day

Now the problem here is you need to put a deposit of 50 euros down

Just in case anything goes wrong. If you get the bike to the hotel, you get the 50 euros back

So that's just the deposit. Alright, so where do I find the bikes

Oh, you'll find them in the entrance. Alright so the train has just stopped because apparently there a demonstration in the central

and the trains can't go there. So now everyone's having to walk to the central. This is the

protest going on. I want to find out what it's about. Bow to the people! I want to see if I can

find someone who speaks a bit of English. Can I ask what the protest is about? We are against all

the strange things happening. What type of strange things? The energy prices in Holland are the highest

in Europe. Oh, inflation. This is a demonstration of their stand against the government

and inflation. These are humans just standing up for each other. For breakfast, I'm thinking vegan pancakes

Let's head in there. Some lemon pancakes to start the morning. a lemon and sugar pancake for 9 euros 40. one pancake so minus that from our toll and we have

so i'm walking down the high street and i see this what the heck just right on the high street

there's no hiding it i know amsterdam's famous for its red light district but this

just having all this stuff just out here in public i mean this is like taking it to a next level

we definitely need to check out the red light district today though all right look what i found

Ice bar. Yes, please. How much is a ticket? 26.50 with three drinks

Alright, so I've just paid 26.50. And I've got three drinks in exchange for that

And a cold bar. Alright, so I'm in the waiting area. You get to have a drink whilst you wait

before you go into the actual ice bar experience where you have two extra tokens to exchange for two drinks I went for the Amsterdam or something like that And apparently this is less sweet

Oh, it's actually pretty sweet. I don't know what she's talking about. So apparently this is Sex on the Beach, the sweet one

Oh, hello. Hello. Hello. Oh, I said I would have a cold iced beer

You don't mind a shot as well. Alright, we've only been here a few minutes and my fingers are starting to go

It's getting too cold, my fingers are absolutely frozen, and I'm out

Oh my lord. Oh God. All right, so I just found some way to have lunch. Pokeball

Hope the prices are under 10 euros, preferably. Which one's your favorite

Well, for vegan options, I think I would go with tempeh. Okay, I'll have that, please

Tempeh bowl? Yeah, thank you so much. I've just ordered a large pokeball for 11 euros empty

and it's got tempeh and rice and some other delicious treats. All right so we reached the red light district As you can see the building with the colored windows and the curtains

Now, I won't be able to go over there with the camera, but I'm going to have a stroll

look around, and I'll let you guys know what I see. Alright, and that brings us to the end of the red light district streets

It was fun, kind of, somewhat. Not really, actually. Half of the windows were empty and the ones that you did see wasn't as exciting as you'd expect it to be

Alright, so I just found some way to see it and I've got the other half of the brownie

So, let's give it a go. It seems a little bit less than half

Yesterday was an experience. This is 8.46. We're going to give it an hour and then we'll see what happens

So the idea of this challenge being having a weekend in Amsterdam for £450

Now weekend meaning you come on Saturday morning. You don't want to go Friday night because you end up paying for a hotel on Friday night

and you don't get to see anything or explore the city. So best to come Saturday morning

You book one hostel or hotel that Saturday. And then Sunday evening you go back home

So this is around the time you'd be catching your flight to go back home because you've got work on Monday

So as far as the challenge has gone, I've completed it. I feel like I'm even trying to find things to spend that money on

But it's been like a great two days so far. So that brings us to the end of the video
