Greenwich - Cheap Eats Under £5 in London

today we're in Greenwich exploring all the cheap foods we can find

We have some big shoes to fill today, so let's see what we can find. Now for us on the list, a bit of an unusual one to look for cheap foods, but I've

pleasantly surprised myself. IKEA. Let's head on in. A vegetarian hot dog with red cabbage and crispy onions coming in at a ridiculous 45

pence Now that is a bargain Now the veggie sausage mostly tastes of vegetables You get the the red cabbage coming through with the flavours The crispy onion gives it a bit more crunch and texture to it

And the sauce just marries it all together. Now as a meal, this comes to £2.20 with fries and drink

A 45 pence hot dog. Can never go wrong. Next on the list, avocado and coffee

An organic coffee house selling toasties, pastas, smoothies, salads, just really good, healthy foods

Let's see what they've got. Alright, drumroll please. For £4.50 is... Wow

Wow now as we do get closer to Greenwich the prices increased significantly

Cucumber and carrots with avocado and hummus dip. Funnily enough this was the

cheapest thing we could find under our budget of five pounds so if you're

looking for cheap eats in Greenwich probably not the best place so we're

gonna head on into the central and see what else we can find

And guess what? We're just in time for a lunchtime special. Let's head in

Alright, so the lunchtime special comes with a medium portion of rice and peas, fried chicken

stew chicken, curry chicken, brown stew fish and a vegan option which looks absolutely

scrumptious but I won't be able to have any. So this is all for you Dominic

We here in Greenwich market and we found a Japanese and Korean cuisine store Teriyaki Ja and we managed to find some cheap eats Now this is vegetable noodles for

which is a regular price, decent price, and a vegetable tempura, two pieces for a pound

and a tofu square, also one pound. So let's try it. Okay, so first we'll start with the vegetable

tempura which is a slice of vegetable dipped in batter and fried. It's got a

delicious looking sauce in it so Oh melts in your mouth. The sauce is sweet

I'm guessing maybe honey glazed something but it works well with it

So the first one is a courgette I think and then the second one looks like a slice of carrot dipped in batter

the soft textures of the cooked carrot the crispy batter the sauce hot

delicious what more could you want a beautifully made vegetable noodle Oh my lord. It's got sesame seed on it, some spring onions and the flavors I must say

There's definitely something in it that isn't in regular chow mein. Wherever that flavor is, it works perfectly

Got a sweet tooth? We've just found Brazilian churros for £3.50 each. Now the chocolate

oozing is vegan as well so if you don't mind a phallic delicious treat in your mouth then

churros is the one Now to wash it all down we found fresh juices starting at They got an array of flavours from mint lemonade blueberry lemonade strawberry lemonade

Now if you're on a budget that is a bit pricey but luckily we've been offered some free samples

Yes please. Oh my lord. Oh my. You know what I take it back

It's worth it. It's worth it. Mmm, which one is this? Mmm, mint

Mints and... Have you ever tried mints and lemonade? Well, grid it still

That's the word to go to. Oh, it's got the citrusy tang of the lemon

It's got the sweetness to it and the mint flavors all bursting through

It's a party in your mouth. Crepes. You can have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sweet, savoury or even vegan

We found a cute little store selling them for £3.50. Maple syrup, roasted almonds and banana for £4.50. A decent price

The pancake is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. It's got the sweet bananas in

the crunchy almonds and just oozing with maple syrup. I love me some sweet treats

All right and that's it for Greenwich. We've had some hot dogs, some rice and peas

some chow mein, some crepes, some sweet treats. Yeah it's been delicious. Some of the prices
