Surviving on £100 in Morocco - Day 2

Morning day two. So I booked a tour to the waterfall yesterday and they've just come and picked me up on the bike

And then now we're about to jump on the bus and head to the location. So the tour in total is 190 dirham. I paid 90 deposit yesterday. Now I've got 100 left

And that brings our tour down to 365 dirham. Alright, we're on the bus. It's completely packed full

Off we go to the waterfall. It turns out I'm on the wrong bus

This one? Alright, so they had me on the wrong bus for a sec, but this is the one to the waterfall

Alright, so I had a really good nap on the bus. We've come to a stop, and I think we might be changing buses

Still trying to figure out what's going on. Alright, so I've been told we're here for a maximum of 15 minutes

there's a cafe on the side and then some people come in so I'm guessing this is

probably the best time for me to grab breakfast. Can I grab tea please

Yes, what a tea? How much is it? 10 dollars. Do you have like bread or... No, I don't have soda

No? All right I guess it's tea for breakfast. Mint tea with sugar. I asked if they had

anything else like bread or pastries they said no just tea so it tastes like toothpaste

we have arrived and the sun is at its highest it's gleaming apparently we'll be starting the tour

at the bottom of the waterfall because everyone usually goes to the top so we'll get to see a lot

more it's 600 steps down and 600 steps up so should be fun look at this

this is so scary look how deep this is I reckon this would be a good place to

skydive all right we're about to leave so apparently this is an olive farm and these are all olive trees and there you

go if you've never seen an olive tree before it feels like we're going on an

expedition yeah okay the best tour guide in the world There just random wildlife along the way We just found a monkey or a

Chimpanzee, I'm not sure what type of ape is. Oh, there's actually quite a few of them

This definitely feels like a bit of a hike Right, we have reached the market section of the hike

We've been told to follow Yusuf so I'm guessing there's no shopping on the way

So very briefly we have walked all the way from the top to you can say the halfway point

or like the middle. How gorgeous is this? How much is pomegranate juice? 15. 15? 2

Okay, so I'm guessing the bridge to cross that bridge is free and then to take the boat across is maybe 20 or 50 dirham

How much is it? 20 dirham 20 dirham Okay, we are currently crossing over to the other side

Alright, so we're slowly inching across Making our way to the waterfall

Okay, so we are officially at the bottom of the waterfall. And now we can walk around, explore, get some drinks, get some food

And then we go back up the waterfall via some more hiking

It sounds very exciting. I'm looking forward to that. Okay, so I want to see if I remember how to tie this thing from yesterday

Yeah, alright, okay thank you so much. Alright, so we're making our way back up the waterfall

Apparently it's 600 steps so happy days, let's get at it. Alright, I think we're about halfway

through. Slowly getting there. Alright so the tour guide has just taken his cuts

That another 30 dirhams minus from our total Alright so in total this tour cost about 240 dirhams 190 for the actual tour and then 20 for the bridge and then 30 for the tour guide

So about 24 euros. So maybe like 22 pounds, 21 pounds, something like that

Okay, so we found some way to have lunch. And as we found out yesterday, there aren't a lot of options with vegetarian meals

So the two options being vegetable tagine or couscous tagine. I've had both yesterday and I've gone for couscous tagine because I think it tasted the best

So we're going to have that for lunch. We have some breads and a bottle of water

Happy days. I still haven't found out the price yet. but I'm sure it's fairly economical. This is what I call lunch with a view. Both a view of a

backside and a view of a view. I feel cheated. Everyone's having kebab and I'm having couscous

with the couscous or how it all goes but I'm kind of just freestyling aga aga

I'm halfway through my couscous it's a lot more filling than I'd expect it but

I'll see it through I'm guessing that's a palate cleanser after the meal is this whiskey

I wanted some of it 110 for lunch This is a lovely lady that made us lunch

So it's currently 7 p.m. We've just got back into the city

and right now I'm making my way back to the hostel to just recoup, refresh

and then I can head back out for dinner and see if there's anything else to do

Alright, so right now we're down to 185 dirham. I don't feel like spending any more money

but I'm going to head out anyways and see what there is. I mean, it never stops to amaze me how busy this place is

Always, always, constantly. So these guys are here again. I'm guessing they just sell shop every evening

and just take people's money, like they did last night. Alright, so I found fries for 5 dirham

So I guess we can have that for dinner. 5 dirham is about 50 pence, so that's bang on budget

Yes, please. I've been given a piece of bread to go with my chips

Okay, so they have aubergine pate and mixed peppers. But also 5 dirham

And then that, I'm guessing, would go well with the bread. So chips, five dirhams, aubergine, peppers or something

So tenderrum or something. There's something everywhere you look

And this is where I end the video. It's been an interesting day

At least we got to do something fun today. We actually went to the waterfall which was magnificent. Those views, wow
