Team Trump Is Destroying American Democracy

This is The Warning

Let me warn you, my friends. You are being lied to. You are being deceived by the President of the United States, Donald Trump

by the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, by the Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance

by the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and by a few hundred others

They are part of a movement, the leadership of it. It is made up of the richest and most powerful people in the world

And at the instant Donald Trump took power, all of those people who have looked over the last 10 years

and have objected to these obscenities at a moral level, abandoned their principles

and became the equivalent of a latter-day Lindsey Graham, and walked to Mar-a-Lago to bend the knee and to become an American Novemberling

There, they made their bargain. Complete and total obedience to Donald Trump

whatever it is that he may do that comes with the golden ticket to take as much as they can get

MAGA. Donald Trump is the president of the United States of America

There are 350 million of us in a world of 8 billion people

Half of us that have ever lived are alive right now. When the country 250 years ago was born, there were 3 million Americans and hundreds of thousands of African slaves

Today, this nation is the most powerful in the world. And it shared a faith, a creed, a belief that we have lit the world with

This idea is our greatest export. It saved the world. It rebuilt it from the ashes

And now Donald Trump is taking a sledgehammer to it. He is replacing it with a sinister and evil ethos that says it is the right of the powerful

to take from the small, from the little, that we are to be insects, bait fish, that serve no utility

beyond being cogs in the interests of a state that serves the interests not of a people, not of a

cause, not of an idea, but of one man and his faction, his family, his corrupt cronies, and his

cowed oligarchs. He is a thief stealing the most ephemeral idea in all of human history

right out from under all of us at a devastatingly fast and rapid pace. And he is doing it without

political opposition from the Democratic Party in Washington, D.C. This should not be confused

with the budding opposition that is rising in the country and will continue to rise because it must

rise to make this stop to oppose the imposition of a new serfdom. Let us understand that the

Schumercrafts of Washington, D.C. are unserious. There are fighters like Jamie Raskin, and there

fighters in the Senate like Chris Murphy, Cory Booker, and others. They are too few. And they

have been cornered into a political oblivion by a career politician whose legacy is that he has

reduced the world's greatest deliberative body alongside his indispensable partner, Mitch McConnell

into a Politburo of rubber stamp functionaries who cannot communicate the urgency of the moment

the high stakes of the situation or the existential crisis at hand for the American people and free people around the world What Donald Trump is doing is a desecration It is a violation But the worst

part about it is that the voice that has risen in defiance and truth and bold, clear opposition

was not in English. It came from a senator of the French Republic who told the truth

which is that America is led by a Nero, and it is a tragedy for the world. Marco Rubio holds an

office that was held by Thomas Jefferson and George Marshall, George Shultz, and Jim Baker

in the nuclear age. This happened yesterday, in exchange between Marco Rubio and the Polish

foreign minister, Radislav Sikorsky, a great friend of America, a great champion of human

dignity and freedom everywhere in the world, where he believes in a creed that we once held

as dear. Freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, freedom from fear, freedom

from one. These noble ideals were at their best the purpose of America's ambitions. Our goals

were not to take, not to rape, not to extract from other nations their riches, what is theirs

and their peoples for our enrichment. What a true American has cared about is the spread of the

ephemeral, the lighting of the lamp of liberty everywhere in the world. Elon Musk has a vision

of freedom that is very different from liberty. His is about a license to take from all of you

who are made to be insects, cogs in a machinery of the state where freedom means the exploitation

of others and the proclamation of greatness that says we are strong and you are weak and so from

you we will take what we want and do with you as we please there is no philosophy that is more

immoral that is more un-american it is wrong it is a techno-fascism and it is led by a nazi

Musk, it must be opposed by the faith of our father, which holds that we believe that all of us are created equal and endowed by a creator with inalienable rights that include life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness

Our great American temples, our national parks, and our national forests are under assault

They are to be given away in transactions where old growth trees are cut down for greenbacks

Bitcoin and minerals and deals, deals, deals. This has nothing to do with prosperity and happiness

This has nothing to do with the American people whose business is freedom, whose pursuit is happiness

Donald Trump is a sickness, a disease of the human heart and the human mind that rises and lights the world on fire

There is a gleam in the eye of his fanatics. They go on corporate media

They look in the camera, hypnotized and anesthetized, and they lie to you

They tell you that these tariffs are not raising prices, but when you go to the store, you know that's not true

They tell you that they seek peace in Ukraine but they have cut off a free people fighting in an existential war for survival to sustain a democratic nation with a language older than Russia with a culture older than Russia with traditions older than Russia The United States has turned off the satellite intelligence We have grounded their planes and weapons and they are being killed

This abandonment is the greatest betrayal in American history, and it will shame us for decades to come

This sinister ugliness must be repudiated. You must get involved in your communities

There is a protest in every town. Go to your indivisible chapter. Get online. Talk to your friends. Go to the protest at the Tesla dealer and take it from there

If you are in Oklahoma, you must get involved because you have the hard task of registering enough people to throw Mark Wayne Mullen out of office because he is a despicable loser and a coward who has betrayed his oath on his knees to the service of the lowest man that this nation has ever produced

who has taken power because apathy overtook our land. And now the suffering will begin

And in two years' time, it can be arrested. Not stopped for four, but arrested

And then it will take a generation, maybe 40 years, to rebuild what Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell

and a generation of inept, sclerotic politicians in Washington smashed with their greed and their

corruption and their fantasies and their arrogance and their condescension. It will be the work of a

lifetime to imagine something better beyond this when these powerful tech companies are smashed

and broken up to bits where free market enterprise and innovation can be restored

where the entrepreneur can thrive, where the gig worker is liberated from the serfdom

that awaits us all if we do not act in urgency to restore our democracy to health

The North had democracy and was for freedom. The South had democracy and it was for slavery

An American democracy of Trumpism is not a faith of freedom and liberty

It is a dogma of control. It is a mania of power

What we see before us is low men and women drunk on their arrogance, lusting to write

history to smash and burn because they are too lazy to understand the gift of what was handed

to them to preserve. These men and women of small imaginations and low characters are a direct

threat to your family. And the weapon that you have is your rights, your autonomy. Do not spend

money. Do not consume. When Larry Ellison, soon to be given TikTok by Trump, hands his son CBS

and the new president of the company demands that 60 minutes surrender to Donald Trump's

immoral threats, don't go see the next Tom Cruise movie. Boycotts always inconvenience the boycotter

and not seeing a Tom Cruise movie is not an inconvenience. Make it an act of democracy

Say no. Do not consume. This summer, go on vacation to Canada

where the Canadian dollar gives every American a great bargain. Say no to these threats against our neighbor

Call the Canadian embassy and say, we stand with you, Canada. Call the Capitol switchboard 202 Call your Democratic senators and demand that Chuck Schumer be removed from his leadership position where his ineptitude threatens the ability of an opposition in Washington D

to take root and to procedurally oppose what is happening. Chuck Schumer can't communicate

but Chris Murphy can. Why isn't Chris Murphy made the Senate leader? Because he's certainly

by deed and word and action is? Why doesn't he have the power to obstruct this? Because we are

saddled with Chuck Schumer's laziness. We are his hostages. The Schumer craps in Washington, D.C

are foisting, again, another geriatric into a political campaign. According to Fox News

Show me the words of Gene Shaheen that are indispensable in this moment to the Democratic Party or to the nation

What wisdom has she articulated? What stand has she taken? What action

What members of the unfit Trump cabinet did she vote to confirm

confirmed the Democratic Party is not meeting this moment. And so we are in a vice between

Trump's menace on one hand and Democratic Party fecklessness on the other. And so what we need is

a bottom uprising in America of grassroots groups and civil society, organic and spontaneous

demonstrations of Americans coming together, imbued with a moral purpose for the defense of

the sublime, the concepts of liberty handed to us generation by generation and preserved and

expanded by acts of courage and indomitability that we have no right to desecrate with disrespect

by forgetting. This weekend, while insulting the Polish foreign minister and the courage and

sacrifice of the Ukrainian people, Marco Rubio and Elon Musk revealed who they are. Zelensky

is not brave. His courage didn't matter. When he said, I will not leave the capital of my country

under war that the United States had had 72 hours left, instead he said, send me the ammunition

that man's courage is desecrated, while Elon Musk's transactions are celebrated. The saviors of the world now are the billionaires who own a technology that, like a richy rich, they can turn off at a whim in an instant, affecting the lives of millions of people, leading to their genocide

But the issue at hand is that the MAGA fools demand an extorted thank you, a genuflection, a bow, a tribute to their King Trump

It is disgusting. This rancidity will be washed away, not by Chuck Schumer, not by the corrupt political party that made it happen

but by the American people, by young people, by everyone everywhere at once coming together

and repudiating the idea that this isn't a great country. Repudiating the idea that our values and ideas are not worth standing up for and fighting for

and protesting for. It's the greatest idea in human history. It's being torn down by some of the stupidest mothers that have ever walked the earth
