6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwestern Mexico, No Major Damage or Casualties Reported

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit southwestern Mexico near the Colima-Michoacán border on January 12, 2025. The quake caused no major damage or casualties, although some buildings swayed in nearby cities. Over 300 aftershocks were recorded, but no significant impact was reported in Mexico City.
