Hello friends, welcome to TutorialsPoint
0:10
In this video we are going to learn shapes in After Effects
0:15
Hi friends, welcome to TutorialsPoint. So to creating a shape you can go to layer and there is a new and from new you can select
0:23
a shape layer. Ok so like this you can create a shape or else you can just right click on your timeline
0:30
panel and here same you can see new and create a shape layer
0:35
Ok guys so now we have two shape layer I am just deleting the first one
0:40
Ok so now creating a shape layer you have to go to the tool panel and here you can see
0:46
a different shape rectangle tool, rounded rectangle tool, ellipse tool, polygon tool
0:51
and star tool. This all shape you can create with a this all shape you can create in a shape layer
0:59
Ok so for now I am just creating a rectangle tool. So I am creating this rectangle tool
1:07
Ok so now we are going to see the property inside this rectangle tool
1:11
So there are rectangle path, stroke, fill and transform. So first of all we are going to see in this tool panel there is some property there is
1:19
a fill. Now this fill color is for filling this shape. So just click on this color and from here you can add any color to this shape
1:30
So for now I am just click on this color and press ok
1:37
Now next is stroke. Now you can also add the stroke color
1:42
Ok for now I am just adding a black color or else a white color and after that you can
1:49
also increase or decrease the stroke width. So for now I am just putting a 20
1:57
Ok beside this you can see the add. Now what is this
2:01
There are different different animations over here or properties you can say
2:05
For now I am just go one by one. First of all fill to add a fill
2:11
Ok which you are already doing by over here. Now next is stroke is the same as the stroke you are applying from here
2:20
After that is a gradient fill. Now if you want to fill by a gradient then just click here and here in the property you
2:28
can see a different different properties inside this gradient fill. So just added gradient to add a different color
2:37
So right now we have white and black. Just click here and you can add a different color
2:44
For now I am just adding a red and this side I am adding a yellow
2:49
So as you can see now I have grading. Ok you can also start or end point of this grade point
2:56
So make it look better. Ok so this all you have to go one by one and practice by yourself because only with the
3:03
practice you can learn this. Just increase the decrease in value and check what happened after that
3:11
So guys next is we can say gradient stroke merge path this all you have to go one by
3:17
one and check it by yourself because only by the practice you can learn all this
3:22
These are all simple just creating a trim path. So as you can see in the trim path you can trim this path
3:28
See by increasing this value you can trim this part to this start and end
3:33
Now if I want to this path first of all I am just of this fill and as you can see now
3:40
start and end point like this after there is offset now as you can see offset
3:48
Ok you can create a very beautiful animation with that which we are going to see in our
3:53
next video where we can learn animation with keyframes. So for now you just do a practice with this all shape layers
4:02
Ok so I am just deleting this trim path. After that there is an twist to twisting the shape as this name say twist
4:13
Ok so guys as you can see I can twist this shape
4:18
So just go through one by one and practice by yourself and you can see a beautiful animation
4:23
over here. Ok now in detail we are going to see the properties inside this shape layer
4:31
So first of all I am going inside this rectangle one. Ok and here you can see a stroke which we already applying from this top side
4:41
You can also change your shape color from here. Ok you can also apply the color from this pick tool
4:49
Now this is a pick color. If I want as I can say this color I want
4:56
Ok just click here. So as you can see it automatically applied to our stroke
5:01
Ok now I want the white color this color. Ok so just click over this and this stroke color applied
5:09
Like this. Next is opacity. You can also apply the opacity to this shape
5:14
I'm just increasing. So as you can see my shape is opaque
5:20
Ok now is a stroke width which we already applying from here
5:24
You can also change your stroke width from here. Ok so I'm just make it zoom so you can watch clearly
5:34
Now the next is line cap. Ok there is a boot cap, a round cap and projecting cap
5:41
If I'm doing a boot cap. Ok and line cap. Now how this applying this boot cap and line cap
5:48
For that you need to create a shape with a pen tool
5:53
So for now I'm just creating one shape layer and with that I'm just creating one random
5:59
shape like this. Ok I'm decreasing the opacity of this shape. If I'm zoom this shape and now I'm showing you the property of this
6:12
Inside this shape one. Ok stroke. So what is this boot cap, line cap, boot cap
6:21
Now as you can see if I'm change to round cap. So see this ending and starting of this shape
6:29
It will be changing the boot cap to round cap. Ok now next is line join
6:35
The join between these two vertex. So guys I'm showing you right now it is middle join now I'm changing to round join
6:43
So as you can zoom it and see. As you can see a minor changes
6:50
Ok I'm just increasing the stroke width so you can have an idea
6:55
See here you can see a changes. Middle join, round join and bevel join
7:04
Ok so it will just giving a smooth curve at the not a sharp edge
7:10
See right now it is a sharp if I'm changes to bevel join and it is giving a smooth turn
7:16
Ok now we can also apply a dotted line over here. So how you can do it
7:22
For now I'm just deleting this shape. Now again back to our original shape
7:28
Ok for now I'm just changing the shape color and inside this shape you can see a dashish
7:40
Now you can add a dash over here. As you can see now my rectangle become a dotted dash dash line
7:48
You can just increase your dashish like this or you can decrease your dashish
7:54
Now offset you can create a very beautiful animation with that. Ok these all properties you can use in our using your project as a requirement
8:05
Ok so from where you can use if there is you if you want to show some path is going here
8:11
to somewhere else. For example I want to show I'm just creating one shape layer and here I'm just showing
8:19
one path which is starting from here. Ok and going over here
8:25
So what I'm doing first of all I'm making dash. Ok just check how it is look
8:33
Ok I'm giving dash and with the offset as you can see it will look like my path is going
8:40
from right to left. So like this you can create a very beautiful animation
8:45
You can also apply a keyframes which we are going to learn in our next video
8:51
Ok for now I'm just delete this shape. So as you can see we are adding a dotted line over here
8:59
Now there is also an individual property. Now as you can see there are two property properties of the shape layer which is called
9:06
a transform where you can see a different different properties. Ok opacity and all that
9:12
And you can also have a particular property of this rectangle tool inside this rectangle
9:18
tool you can see their transform property too. Ok see transform rectangle property
9:24
Why it is like that? Because in the shape layer you can have more than one shape inside the shape layer
9:31
So all shape have a different different individual properties. So for example right now I'm just make it normal and I'm creating one more shape
9:40
Ok I'm creating ellipse inside this rectangle. So just selection tool and make it on center
9:52
Ok so guys as you can see there is an ellipse added inside this tool
9:57
But they are creating a new shape. I want this ellipse shape inside this rectangle
10:04
So what I'm doing like this shape layer and now creating the shape
10:09
So guys as you can see inside this shape layer now I have two shape ellipse and rectangle
10:15
So now this ellipse have a different property same as a rectangle
10:20
I'm just changing the color of the shape. I can also added a dash line for make it dotted
10:27
Ok you can also change a stroke as well as see can also change the stroke width and different
10:36
different property. Now this shape also have that transform property. You can also increase or decrease opacity as well as you can also change anything you want
10:47
Ok so this is the shape layer. Now in the next video we are going to learn animation with keyframes where we are creating
10:54
some different different shapes and show you how you can animate that shape or how you
10:59
can animate a footage or elements in Adobe After Effects. So thank you guys
11:04
See you in the next video with animation with keyframes. Thank you
