Tired of having to hold up your BMW e36 hood with a 2x4? It is really annoying to have to go in the garage to hoist up your hood everytime you need to check the oil. E36 hood shocks can be purchased online and a lot of auto parts stores carry them as well. You should always replace hood shocks in pairs, don't go cheap here by buying a single shock. The passenger side hood shock has a plastic bracket for the wiper fluid hose, simply pull it off of the hood shock. There are two clips on each shock attaching them to the hood and the frame. Using a flathead screwdriver you can pop the clip out of the recess and remove the shock. Installation is the reverse of removal.
