This video entails a step-by-step process on how to diagnose a ticking sound in your BMW. This is an extremely common issue for BMW owners and in this video, I describe my process for locating the source of the ticking sound and then repairing the problem.

BMW ticking sounds are most commonly attributed to hydraulic lifters, however, I discovered later in this video that the source of my problem was a bad water pump pulley and two bolts that had broken off in the water pump.

In this video, I perform an engine flush/oil change, replace a belt tensioner, and replace a water pump.

Eventually, after performing this maintenance my ticking noise disappeared.
