This DIY depicts my removal of the sunroof motor out of a Mercedes Benz 2000 E430. This is a pretty quick job, be careful removing the plastic panels that cover the lights. 

Once the switch assembly below the motor has been removed, you have access to several other parts that control the sunroof on your Mercedes Benz W210.
