Maureen O’Hara’s beautiful Irish home (take a look round)

Movie legend Maureen O’Hara made her name in Hollywood with classic films like the Quiet Man and Miracle on 34th Street. But for all the showbiz glitz, she felt most at home in her native Ireland. For many years she had a mansion in Co Cork that she used as a getaway retreat. The estate is known as Lugdine Park and covers 35 acres of land. It overlooks Glengarriff Bay and has two islands and a private beach. It’s surrounded by woodland and has views of the Cork/Kerry Mountains in the distance, making it one of the most desirable homes in Ireland. Take a look inside and around the grounds in this video. O’Hara loved it there and when she had to leave she said: “I have too many wonderful memories of Glengarriff to pick just one. You miss Ireland for all your life when you leave.
