Solve an Equation with Square Root - Grade 11

In this video, the steps to solve an equation including the square root and a parameter is solved by first listing the following rules of square root:
1 - sqrt(a b) = sqrt (a) sqrt (b)
2 - ( sqrt (x) )^ 2= x
3 - sqrt (x^2) = x , for x greater than zero.
The rules above are used to solve for sqrt (x) and then both sides of the equation are squared to obtain x.
