How to cook Kerala Matta rice in pressure cooker

Pressure the rice for 7-8 whistles in the cooker. Once the pressure is released, take out the rice and drain the excess rice by running this through a colander. You can add a bit of salt and give this water to kids. This is starch water and generally i don't prefer to consume it. Palakadan Matta rice is ready to serve. I prefer this rice with sambar, vatha kuzhambu and curd rice. Some how for rasam rice i feel it didn't gel with the rice. Notes: Soaking is important for this rice, else it will not get cooked properly. This is the easiest way of cooking the matta rice, but if you want to cook on the stove top, you can do so. Follow the same steps and cook kerala matta rice on a heavy bottomed pan.
