If you are managing inventory/stock in Tally, there could be many stock items that may require a compound unit instead of a simple unit, like the Eggs. Eggs can be sold or purchased in both dozen and pcs units. So, in Tally, you will first need to create 2 simple units: dozen and pcs, and then you can ask Tally to create a compound unit where 1 dozen = 12 pcs.
