Basil Pesto Recipe πΏπ§π§ Ingredients π±π₯ 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed πΏ 1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts π° 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese π§ 2-3 cloves garlic, minced π§ 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil πΏ Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste π§ Instructions πβ¨ Toast the Nuts π°π₯ If using pine nuts, you can toast them lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown and fragrant. Stir frequently to prevent burning. Skip this step if using walnuts. Blend Ingredients πΏπ§ In a food processor or blender, combine the basil leaves, toasted pine nuts or walnuts, grated Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. Process π₯π± Pulse a few times to chop the ingredients. Then, with the food processor or blender running, gradually add the olive oil in a steady stream. Process until smooth and well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl or blender as needed.
