Trump admin task force weighing declassifying COVID-19 origins info

The Trump administration continues its push to potentially release more classified material

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announcing this week the administration is

considering big changes to the nation's intelligence community and whether to declassify

COVID-19 origins material. Gabbard says these decisions will be made by a task force

known as the Director's Initiative Group. The panel will not only look into declassifying

material on COVID-19, but probes into the mystery health symptom known as Havana syndrome

reported by a number of U.S. diplomats and officials, as well as cost-cutting measures

within intelligence agencies. In a statement from the Office of the Director of National

Intelligence, Gabbard said in part, President Trump promised the American people maximum

transparency and accountability. We are committed to executing the president's vision. The office did not reveal how the task force will be assembled or when it will submit recommendations to Gabbard Gabbard also did not disclose which COVID documents are being considered If declassified the move would be in line with a recent release

of COVID-19 information from the Trump administration. As Straight Arrow News previously reported, the Department of Defense revealed a report withheld by the Biden

administration on U.S. military service members potentially contracting COVID-19 as early as

2019 in Wuhan, China. The task force will also investigate Trump administration accusations

of the weaponization and politicization of U.S. intelligence agencies. The Trump administration's

efforts to declassify more material follows its release of thousands of previously classified

documents regarding the assassination of JFK and plans to release more material on the assassination
